English Action Round-Up
FORMER Rangers hitman Daniel Cousin snatched the winner as humble Hull stunned Arsenal 2-1.
Cousin headed home in 66 minutes to inflict the Gunners' first home defeat for 17 months.
It completed a great fightback after Geovanni had struck four minutes earlier to cancel out Paul McShane's own goal.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger paid tribute to Hull's hunger.
He said: "We were better on a technical level - but on the commitment side they were on top and scored two good goals."
Stand-in boss Joe Kinnear failed to stop the rot as Newcastle crashed 2-1 at home to Blackburn.
Rovers raced into the lead through Christopher Samba and Roque Santa Cruz while a Michael Owen penalty gave the Toon Army false hope.
Kinnear said: "We must stop feeling sorry for ourselves and focus on playing football."
Fernando Torres ended a six game goal drought as Liverpool won the Merseyside derby 2-0.
He struck twice in three second half minutes against Everton who had Tim Cahill sent off.
Delighted Reds boss Rafael Benitez said: "It was important for Fernando and us that he has started scoring - to get two in a derby is massive for him."
Bolton boss Gary Megson blasted the "nonsense" penalty that paved the way for a 2-0 Manchester United victory.
Jlloyd Samuel seemed to win the ball in a tackle on Cristiano Ronaldo but ref Rob Styles pointed to the spot.
Ronaldo scored and Wayne Rooney made the points safe.
Megson said: "I thought Styles was going to book Ronaldo for diving.
"He was the only man in the stadium who thought it was a penalty. It sticks in the throat."
Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari praised Jose Bosingwa's contribution after he scored then set up Nicolas Anelka's goal in a 2-0 triumph at Stoke.
John Carew fired the winner as Aston Villa came from behind to beat Sunderland 2-1 while West Ham also won 2-1 against 10-man Fulham.
