EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR faces a battle to win back the Arsenal fans after agreeing to sign a new deal.
The Togo star could do no wrong last season with his 30 goals making him an Emirates favourite.
But after a summer of uncertainty over his future, with the hitman linked to AC Milan and Barcelona, a section of the support have lost patience.
Adebayor, who came off the bench in the Emirates Cup defeat to Juventus, was the target of boo boys when his name was announced.
The 24-year-old, however, looked busy when he was brought on and could silence the snipers when he returns to the goal trail.
Boss Arsene Wenger named a young side that included Wales Under-21 star Aaron Ramsey, Mexican starlet Carlos Vela and 16-year-old Jack Wilshere.
Juventus started the likes of Czech ace Pavel Nedved, France's World Cup winner David Trezeguet and former Aston Villa centre-back Olof Mellberg.
Wilshere went close after 13 minutes when he fired in a low angled volley at the far post following Justin Hoyte's cross.
Arsenal won a free-kick on the edge of the box when Vela was tripped by Giorgio Chiellini but Nicklas Bendtner fired over.
Then Ramsey, signed from Cardiff for £5million, weaved into the box and had his shot blocked by the legs of Italy No.1 Gianluigi Buffon.
With 10 minutes of the first half remaining a header from David Trezeguet beat Lukas Fabianski but the effort was ruled offside.
Minutes later the Italians were ahead when the assistant's flag stayed down as Trezeguet, who looked well ahead of the last man, turned in a 25-yard Marco Marchionni free-kick.
Skipper William Gallas, Adebayor, Abou Diaby and fit-again Bacary Sagna all came on for Arsenal at the start of the second half.
On the hour Wenger made a further three changes, giving a home debut for Samri Nasri, a £12m signing from Marseille.
Adebayor's downward header failed to trouble Buffon then Bendtner's drive was beaten away at the near post.
With almost the last kick of the game Adebayor's curling shot drifted inches wide.
