Villa set to grab Brad

ASTON VILLA are poised to beat Celtic to the signature of American keeper Brad Guzan.

The Hoops were linked with Guzan last season but former boss Martin O'Neill is closing in on the 23-year-old.

Villa have agreed a fee with MLS side Chivas USA and now just need to get a work permit.

O'Neill thought he had landed Guzan in January for £2million but the deal was scuppered because the goalie hadn't played enough international games.

However, Guzan has won five more caps since then and should be granted a permit.

He said: "I would love to sign for Villa as they are a big club."
