CHRIS RIGGOTT came out of exile to clinch Boro's Premiership status.

The defender returned from a loan spell at Stoke to head home the opener in 40 minutes. Tuncay Sanli made it 2-0 seven minutes after half-time to cast off the threat of relegation.

A relieved Boro boss Gareth Southgate praised his goal heroes and said: "All credit to Chris for coming in and doing so well. As for Tuncay, his work-rate was absolutely outstanding."
