Caldo Hails Forest Heroes

League One

COLIN CALDERWOOD celebrated Nottingham Forest's promotion last night and insisted they weren't lucky.

Forest claimed second spot in League One by beating Yeovil 3-2 as Doncaster crashed 2-1 at Cheltenham.

Boss Caldo said: "The players deserve all the plaudits that come their way.

It's about what we do over 46 matches and we've done it.

"I know we have had doubters along the way but the players will be stronger for the experience they have had over the last nine months and I couldn't be happier or prouder for them.

"It's a fairytale ending to the season and although it's not the greatest story in the history of this club it is one that has made heroes of the players out there.

"There are not many better places to achieve something like this than Nottingham Forest. I have been aware since I came here what success means to this club.

"By winning promotion the players have proved they are winners and achievers and I am sure they can go on to better things. They will be ready to go again next season."

Doncaster join Carlisle, who were held 1-1 at home to Bournemouth, in the playoff semi-finals.

Bournemouth are relegated with Gillingham who went down 2-1 at Leeds, who had already clinched a play-off place.
