Ash Sets Sights On Euro Slot

ASTON VILLA winger Ashley Young is convinced his side can still pip Everton to fifth place in the Premiership - and bag the only remaining Euro spot up for grabs.

Martin O'Neill's side can draw level on points with the Toffees if they win their game in hand against Birmingham today then beat Everton at Goodison next Sunday.

That would leave both sides with two games to try to secure fifth place and the final UEFA Cup slot available to English clubs.

And Young, an £8million signing from Watford, said: "We wanted Europe from the start of the season and we've managed to maintain a challenge even when we hit a bit of a sticky patch.

"Other people may have written us off but we never said it was out of our sights.

"Now if we win all the remaining games we should put ourselves in a European position."
