Bolton 1-0 West Ham

KEVIN DAVIES earned battling Bolton three priceless points as they continue their fight for Premiership survival.

The veteran midfielder netted his 100th career goal to ensure Gary Megson's men kept alive their hopes of beating the drop.

El-Hadji Diouf had a goal ruled out for offside before the break as Bolton dominated from the off.

But two minutes after the re-start Davies bundled home inside the area to put his side ahead after the West Ham defence failed to clear a goalmouth scramble.

The Hammers struggled to create any clear chances and furious gaffer Alan Curbishley was less than impressed.

He said: "Bolton played to their strengths and we found that difficult in the first half.

"But the ref gave us no protection and I'm not happy about a few things that went on."
