Man City 0-2 Chelsea

DELIGHTED Chelsea boss Avram Grant has refused to get carried away after his side closed the gap on leaders Manchester United to two points.

Thewin heaps the pressure back on Sir Alex Ferguson and his troops who take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium today.

Grant said: "Over the past three months we have won almost 80 per cent of our league games.

"That is the record of champions and we have come a long way when you consider a lot of clubs were ahead of us. "But United are also doing well.

We will just carry on doing our job like we did today."

Chelsea got off to perfect start, scoring after six minutes.

Michael Essien raced forward and slipped a pass to Nicolas Anelka on the right. He fired over a low cross and hapless City skipper Richard Dunne poked the ball past keeper Joe Hart.

The home side bossed the rest of the first half but failed to make their possession pay as they ran out of ideas in the final third.

Chelsea took advantage and Ivorian hitman Salomon Kalou wrapped it up in 53 minutes with his 11th goal of the season.

Man City manager Sven Goran Eriksson said: "We played some good football.

"We started slow and conceded an early goal but created more chances in the first half. I'm less depressed than I was last week."
