STEVE COPPELL saluted James Harper for earning his side's first away win this season.

The delighted Reading boss watched as Harper's last-minute winner earned the Royals a boost in their bid to beat the drop.

Coppell said: "To win is a massive psychological help and I hope it will have a long-term effect in our battle for survival."

Boro gaffer Gareth Southgate said: "They were full of energy but we got caught with a sucker punch."
