Wenger Fury Over Tackle

ARSENE WENGER last night called for Birmingham's Martin Taylor to be banned for life after his X-rated tackle on Eduardo da Silva in Arsenal's 2-2 draw at St Andrews.

The stopper saw red after leaving the Croatian with a broken shin. Eduardo was operated on last night and Wenger said: "The tackle was horrendous and Taylor should never play football again. It's like a guy who kills one time in his life. It's enough. You have a dead person."

But Blues boss Alex McLeish said: "It was not a sending off. Martin is not a malicious player. It was a case of Eduardo being too quick for him." Sky, who covered the match, declined to show replays of the incident.
