BORO boss Gareth Southgate hailed hero Jeremie Aliadiere after his strike was enough to see off battling Fulham.

In a game of few chances the French hitman fired home the winner in 11 minutes to send his side seven points clear of the drop zone.

Southgate said: "Jeremie has been outstanding for us all season and is now making the most of his chances."

Fulham gaffer Roy Hodgson said: "We passed it quite well, worked hard defensively and showed a lot of grit."
