EVERTON gaffer Davie Moyes was delighted to see his side pick up a hard-fought win against plucky Reading.

The home side survived an early Stephen Hunt effort to grind out the victory thanks to Phil Jagielka's looping header in 62 minutes.

Moyes said: "It was a plain ugly win but we deserved the win. We can play better."

Steve Coppell, whose Reading side slipped into the bottom three, said: "We made good chances and were the better side at half-time."
