WEST BROM star Kevin Phillips reckons on-loan Hearts hitman Roman Bednar is one of the best strikers in England.

Bednar has hit 11 goals already this season for Tony Mowbray's Championship side.

Team-mate Phillips didn't have a clue who the Czech was when he arrived but has been blown away by his displays.

The former England striker said: "Roman is one of the best finishers I've seen - and I've played with some top players.

"The management were telling us how good he was but we weren't convinced at first.

"However, he was carrying a back injury and since then has been outstanding."
