Spurs 2 Sunderland 0
TOTTENHAM boss Juande Ramos heaped praise on Robbie Keane after the striker's 100th goal for the club killed off Sunderland's hopes.
Sub Keane reached his century in stoppage-time when he latched on to keeper Radek Cerny's clearance and squirmed a shot under Craig Gordon.
Ramos said: "It's a fantastic achievement for Robbie, the club and the Spurs family."
Aaron Lennon opened the scoring in the second minute when he prodded in Jamie O'Hara's cross from the left. Ex-Hearts keeper Gordon then kept Sunderland in the game with a series of superb saves, notably from a Jermain Defoe chip and a Dimitar Berbatov drive.
Sunderland gaffer Roy Keane said: "If you give two goals away like we did you simply don't deserve to win any match.
"And when you concede a goal after only 111 seconds it's not ideal with our away record."
