OWEN COYLE'S Burnley earned a vital 2-1 victory at 10-man Coventry thanks to Robbie Blake's second-half goal.

Ade Akinbiyi blasted the away side ahead in 10 minutes before skipper Michael Doyle equalised midway through the first half.

Kevin Kyle was ordered off for Coventry just after the interval and Blake slammed the ball home in 68 minutes to seal victory.

Wolves won 2-0 at Scunthorpe to ease the pressure on boss Mick McCarthy with goals in either half from new signings David Edwards and Sylvain Ebanks-Blake.
