LOYAL Harry Redknapp last night revealed he'd turned down Newcastle's megabucks offer - because his heart is with Portsmouth.
The 60-year-old was offered the St James' Park vacancy plus a £20million budget to splash on building his own side.
But he turned it down because he feels he has unfinished business at Pompey.
Redknapp said: "It's not all about money. Money is not my God.
"I'm happy, I enjoy it here and have a great relationship with the fans. I wouldn't sleep at night if I left. The club have been good to me and I've got to pay them back.
"I've had terrific backing from the club. To walk away half way through the season is the wrong signal. It's not fair. My heart is with Portsmouth."
Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie said: "Harry has now been linked with Spurs, England and Newcastle.
"It speaks volumes about his desire to see Pompey succeed that he wants to stay."
Meanwhile, Newcastle chairman Chris Mort insisted the club would take their time to find the right manager.
Mort said: "We have identified and spoken to a number of potential candidates.
"This is an important appointment and we will take as long as required to make sure we bring in the right person.
"That person will be someone we believe can deliver successful results and performances to accompany that.
"Harry made it clear he is happy with life on the South Coast and we wish him well."
Fans' hero Alan Shearer emerged as favourite again after Redknapp's snub.
