MISFIRING hitman David Nugent put his stuttering Pompey career behind him to smash Ipswich's FACup dreams.

The 22-year-old has failed to live up to his s6million price tag since arriving from Preston last year but came off the bench to fire Harry Redknapp's side into the fourth round.

Nugent - introduced at the break - showed a glimpse of his talent by lashing home Sol Campbell's long ball after Blues starlet Liam Trotter was shown a straight red for a lunge on Pedro Mendes.
