CHASETOWN'S dream of FA Cup glory came to an end as Cardiff City fought back for a stunning victory.
A major giant-killing act had looked a possibility after 17 minutes when former Aberdeen star Kevin McNaughton bundled Ben Steane's cross into his own net to put the minnows from the Midlands ahead. Shell-shocked Cardiff took time to recover but levelled in injury time at the end of the first half through Peter Whittingham.
Then second-half strikes from Aaron Ramsey and Paul Parry spared the visitors' blushes. But Chasetown - who play in the British Gas Business Division One and have comedian Frank Carson as a director - were delighted with their big cup payday.
Chasetown boss Charlie Blakemore said: "It's just been an absolute dream. I was really in dreamland when we scored and it's just a shame we couldn't hold the lead until half-time."
