HONEST Derek Ferguson insists his own attitude might be to blame after his 10-man side were torn apart.
The Blues boss admits even he struggled to view the cup clash as meaningful and refused to lay into his squad.
He said: "Being honest I was still looking at this as a pre-season game and I can't fault the players for effort."
Livingston took the lead in 33 minutes through Leigh Griffiths before a quickfire treble in the second half sealed the win.
Joe Hamill fired home the second in 67 minutes with Anthony McParland netting three minutes later.
And the result was beyond doubt in 72 minutes when Griffiths added his second.
Stranraer's Kevin Nichol then saw red late on to end a miserable day for the visitors.
Livi boss Roberto Landi said: "I was happy with the result and with the type of football we played."
