CHRIS TEMPLEMAN came back to haunt his old club as 10-man Brechin crashed to defeat.
The Alloa striker grabbed the winner in 69 minutes as he swept the ball home from close range.
And his strike came after another ex-Brechin star Kevin Fotheringham saw a 25-yard effort parried by Craig Nelson.
City came close to an opener in the first half when Darren Smith's 30-yard scorcher smacked off the bar.
But East Fife upped the pace after the break and Templeman netted before Ian Nimmo saw red for a crude tackle.
