Boyd vows to hit back

KRIS BOYD has had to roll with the punches all season, taking blow after blow to his ego in Rangers' biggest games.

But he still believes he can deliver a knockout punch for them.

The striker - Gers' top scorer with 22 goals - has been a spare part for their crunch clashes all year, starting only two of 19 in Europe and not seeing a single minute of Old Firm action.

And he only had a brief cameoin the UEFA Cup final as an 86th-minute sub.

Boyd said: "I've been disappointed not to play but that's life as a footballer. You get highs and lows so hopefully my highs are still to come this season.

"You're frustrated on the sidelines but even when I got on against Zenit I didn't have any chances.

"On the whole we dug in but didn't cut them open enough. All along though the UEFA Cup was a bonus. We set out to win the SPL and might still do that.

"The support was unbelievable in Manchester and we're gutted for them but I'm sure if we win the Scottish Cup there won't be many sad faces."
