Euro agony for Hibees kid

HIBS kid Damon Gray has been left to curse red tape for denying him the chance to aid the club's bid for a UEFA Cup place.

The 19-year-old was farmed out to First Division Partick Thistle in February but his loan came to an end after yesterday's final league match with Morton.

Gray, who netted against Rangers in the Scottish Cup, will return to Mixu Paatelainen's Euro-chasers tomorrow.

But the youngster has been told his season is over as SPL rules set a March 31 deadline for players returning to their clubs.

He said: "I can't play again this season for Hibs. The boss will probably confirm it tomorrow.

"It's one of those rules but it's frustrating to not be involved."
