Ayr 1-2 Airdrie United

RAGING Ayr boss Brian Reid has vowed to make BIG changes after his troops lost to an Airdrie side made up of mainly youth players.

The Diamonds drafted in a number of youngsters to save key men for Wednesday's semi-final play-off against Raith.

And they rose to the occasion with hitkid Marco Andreoni firing home the winner from the penalty spot.

Reid said: "That's simply not good enough. That's why there will be big changes this summer.

"I'll hunt high and low to get the players who want to be successful."

Ayr skipper Eddie Forrest fired them in front after three minutes but Airdrie levelled five minutes later through David Gillies.

Andreoni then smashed home the spot-kick with 14 minutes left.

Delighted Airdrie boss Kenny Black said: "The kids have given me food for thought.

"I hope the play-offs are kind and we can get back to the First Division."
