Higdon: Falkirk Splitting Mad At Missing Top Six

FRUSTRATED Michael Higdon reckons Falkirk's failed battle to make the top six has taken its toll.

The comeback striker admits shot-shy Bairns were terrible as they turned down the tempo after last weekend's disappointment.

The 24-year-old Englishman was making his first-team return after being sidelined for four frustrating months following knee surgery.

But he didn't expect to come into such a low key affair and was disappointed by the lack of chances and cutting edge his side showed.

And he said: "I was delighted to start - but it wasn't much of a game and terrible to play in.

We didn't set out to play that way and I was disappointed at how we petered out in the end.

"We've had a good season and don't just want it to fade out because we've failed to make the top six.

"But I struggled to get chances. Maybe we weren't playing at the tempo we have been."

Higdon hit eight goals before his bad knee injury and had hoped to add to his tally now he's back fit.

He added: "I wanted to score a goal a game before the end of the season - but that's gone now. But for my injury I'm sure I would have scored more."
