THIS has been the worst season ever for Premier League postponements with yesterday's Fir Park call-off bringing the total to a whopping 17.
That's in stark contrast to a tally of six last term and Motherwell's dreadful pitch has been at the centre of most re-arranged matches.
While most have fallen victimto the weather other circumstances have combined to make the situation worse.
Phil O'Donnell's death saw four games postponed out of respect and the Old Firm had a weekend wiped out ahead of Scotland's Euro 2008 decider against Italy. Rangers also requested a game against Gretna be switched before their crunch Champions League game with Lyon.
Scotland has suffered fixtures chaos before and in 1979 Inverness Thistle and Falkirk saw a Scottish Cup second-round tie postponed an incredible 30 times over 47 days.
Even that is four call-offs short of the British record set by Airdrie and Stranraer in 1963.
