Blair: Snow Stopping Us Now

SKIPPER Mike Blair hailed his sub-zero heroes after they froze out Canada at chilly Pittodrie.

Buoyant Blair insisted the success in the snow will give his side a massive boost as they look ahead to the Six Nations campaign.

He said: "Losing to South Africa and New Zealand was hugely disappointing but this result will enable us to put these experiences firmly behind us.

"We can now look ahead with confidence to the Six Nations. It was just reward for the work and effort we have put in throughout the series and there is no doubt the crowd played a big part.

"The noise they made was fantastic and it certainly spurred us on."

Blair was backed up by coach Frank Hadden, left, who said: "Considering the bitterly cold conditions it was an efficient performance.

Handling was extremely difficult and the scrum provided the platform.

"We were where we wanted to be for long periods and in the contact situation there was only one team in it. Overall we feel we have made progress over the past three weeks.

"We know we are not the finished article but we have a great chance of success in the Six Nations."
