PJ McDonald's exclusive guide to Musslebrugh's Dads and Lads card

HAVING switched codes since winning the 2007 Scottish Grand National, P J McDonald has never looked back and he looks the jockey to follow on Musselburgh's Dads and Lads card.

Three of his five rides are for his main employer Alan Swinbank and PJ gave MailRacing an exclusive insight into how he expects them to run.

He said: "TALE OF SILVER (2.50) was a close second at Newcastle last time and he's a young horse with a bright future so I'm hoping for a big run.

"DANZATRICE (3.20) is a mare that stays well and she will love the ground. She has loads of ability and could spring a little upset if the race is run at a decent gallop.

"I won on SANDWICH (4.20) in July at Musselburgh and the only worry with him is that he's on an all-time high handicap mark but he's certainly got plenty of toe.

"KARLANI (4.50) returns after a long spell on the sidelines but everyone knows our yard can get them pretty fit first time back and he's another with plenty of stamina.

"I also ride TAKE IT EASEE (5.20) in the last and she has shown a little promise recently. This will be the first time she has tackled a mile in handicap company."

This will be Musselburgh's first ever Dads and Lads Raceday and commercial manager Sarah Montgomery hopes all the free boys' toys on show - including a hi tech racing car simulator - will prove a hit.

She said: "This was one of our regular family meetings and we thought it would be fun to put on a number of attractions that would keep the boys interested."
