Race star Lawson's son out to shine

TEEN star Richard Lawson is aiming to collect the Scottish Junior speedway title from his famous dad when he goes for glory in today's Heathersfield Golden Helmet at Ashfield.

Richard faces tough opposition from 11 top British riders including defending champ Gary Beaton and Adam McKinna who has made several guest Premier League appearances this term.

Lawson snr, who spent 15 years at Glasgow Tigers and was voted their greatest ever racer, will present the trophy.

AlanDick, Tigers' co-promoter, said: "It's an honour to have Steve with us and it's a quality field."
