BLEARY eyed Oliver Wilson gave himself a Ryder Cup wake-up call yesterday after enduring a sleepless night.
The Englishman is in 10th place and the last automatic qualifying spot for Valhalla.
He had struggled to make the cut but turned round his game yesterday with a super 68 to move to three-under par.
Nick Dougherty, on five under after a 69, and level-par Ross Fisher are trying to pip him for that place in the European team - but both would require a top two finish.
Wilson admitted his fantastic third round has taken him a massive step towards cementing his place in the team for Kentucky in three weeks.
Wilson said: "I knew I had to rest on Friday - but I woke at 2am, did not get back to sleep until 5.30 then had to get up at six! It's hard to switch off.
"But I've proved something here - maybe pressure brings out the best in me.
"I was pleased to make the weekend and have moved right up. Nick and Ross are capable of getting past me. But all I want to do now is finish as high as I can."
