WORRIED Graeme McDowell still refuses to believe he has made Europe's Ryder Cup team - despite already agreeing to be measured up for his uniform.
The Northern Irishman seems a cert to make his debut at Valhalla next month as he currently sits in the first of five automatic qualifying places.
Team Europe's tailors got the measuring tape out after his victory in the Scottish Open last month but McDowell (right) won't feel safe until the team is confirmed on August 31.
He said: "It's all starting to become real but until I see my name on the
team sheet I'm not going to be resting on my laurels.
"This is a big week at the US PGA then I'm going to take a few weeks off before the Johnnie Walker Championship. I still have work to do.
"There's a big debate about who's going to get the wild card picks and guys are understandably buzzing."
Making this Ryder Cup team has been McDowell's goal since the last clash with the USA in 2006.
He was a commentator for TV and radio at Ireland's K Club and vowed
to swap his microphone for a set of clubs at the next showdown.
He added: "It was frustrating to be there and not be part of the team.
"I wanted to be out there playing and understanding what these boys were feeling.
"That was a kick for me. It made me take stock of my career and motivate myself.
"I made it my goal to be playing when it came to Valhalla and I'm pleased to have put myself in a position where I am close to doing that."
