Title-holder Alison ace in the pack

FORMER Curtis Cup star Alison Davidson is top seed for the matchplay stages of the Stirling and Clackmannan County golf championship.

The Stirling ace earned the honour with a 76 at Grangemouth yesterday and will start today as favourite to land a sixth crown.

Margaret Tough (Falkirk), whom Davidson beat in last year's final, also had a 76 but lost out to a better inward half.

Davidson today meets 16th seed Tricia Chillas, wife of European Seniors Tour star John.
