Nel: It's time we got a grip

SCOTLAND must get to grips with English wickets or forever be also rans in the Friends Provident Trophy.

That's the warning from Saltires pace ace Dewald Nel ahead of today's trip to holders Durham and tomorrow's visit to Yorkshire.

The Scots look sure to finish bottom of the heap with their four rivals now scrapping it out for the North group's two quarter-final places.

The batsmen have copped the lion's share of the blame with Nel and John Blain's bowling matching some of the best of the county stars.

Ex-Worcestershire star Nel said: "Where the county players adapt after a few overs to the conditions we can sometimes take two or three games. We have to adjust better."
