Scots Set For Test Matches In The States

SCOTTISH stars are being lined up to help cricket break into the lucrative US market.

At least two Saltires are likely to feature for a World XI in a glamour Twenty20 tournament in Florida this month.

The MAQ T20 will also include a Pakistan All Star side, a West Indies team and Canada.

Aberdeenshire wicketkeeper Colin Smith had to reject the chance to take part due to other commitments but Grange all-rounder Gregor Maiden is expected to play.

Smith said: "I would have loved to take part - it's not every day you get an all expenses paid trip to Florida.

"But the organsiers want to get associate countries involved and there is talk of the Scotland team going out later this year."
