Kenny Glad After Frank Career Talks

Olympics

EDINBURGH star Kenny Anderson says his ring career is back on track after showdown talks with his promoter Frank Warren.

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist has been idle since March after his last three fights were cancelled and had accused Warren of neglecting his Scottish boxers.

Now the super-middleweight is looking forward to a title fight in January after he's dealt with US ace Joe Rea in London next month.

Unbeaten Anderson said: "Frank agreed he should have worked a bit more on my behalf.

"Mistakes have been made but I should be a priority fighter for them and feel reassured after our talk."

Anderson admits being inactive has driven him up the wall: "It was difficult preparing for fights that then got cancelled. You sacrifice a lot for nothing and are left deflated.

"Rea will give me motivation as he's also unbeaten."

Kenny expects a match up for the Celtic or even British title at the start of 2009 and said: "I'm at a stage now where I should be pushing for titles."
