Aiden's got the skills to light up La Liga

MARC CROSAS reckons his skilful Celtic pal Aiden McGeady could cut it in Spain's La Liga.

Crosas spent six years at Barcelona and knows the standard required to reach the top in his homeland.

And he has no doubt the likes of McGeady could thrive.

He said: "Aiden is skilful and quick. He could play in Spain if he wanted - as could other players at this club as they have the talent to do so.

"But I hope Aiden stays. I don't want him to go anywhere else.

"This is a good club to be with and I don't think any players here have reason to envy the Spanish players."

Crosas has made one start since joining in the summer and hopes he'll be in Gordon Strachan's team for today's game at Kilmarnock.

Crosas said: "I played last week against Motherwell and it wasn't easy as I hadn't played first-team football for a while.

"My first impression is the football is very intense and the level is high. You also have to be quick and the play can be aggressive.

"None of that is a problem. I'll just have to settle in as quickly as possible.

"My team-mates are helping me adapt and the most important thing is that we keep on winning.

"I'm committed to training hard every day and play well when the manager selectsme. It's quite simple. It's the same everywhere."

Crosas grew up on a diet of watching Johan Cruyff's Barcelona and loved the success the Dutchman brought to the Nou Camp.

He said: "Cruyff was a big success. As a kid I enjoyed watching the way his Barca side played.

"I was a big fan of Barcelona but now Celtic is more important."

Crosas (below) will be back in Spain for Celtic's next Euro adventure, a week on Tuesday, when they travel to play Villarreal.

Crosas knows the La Liga runners-up well and said: "They are a good team but we shouldn't have a problem against them. Marcos Senna balances the team and I know Edmilson from our time together at Barcelona.

"It will not be easy but there is no reason to be afraid."
