SURGEON Ian Mackay should know better than to post a four-letter rant about medical chief Dame Carol Black online.
There were better ways for him to express his fears about the country's farcical medical training reforms.
But suspending him from work on full pay pending an investigation was a massive over-reaction.
A smack on the wrist would have been enough.
At a time when the health service is failing to hit targets and patients are waiting longer for cancer treatment, the NHS needs young surgeons like Ian Mackay in our operating theatres.
Not sitting at home twiddling their thumbs over the type of swearing you hear on the Beeb.
