Back To Basics, Wendy

IT is time to get a grip, Wendy.

In two months as Scottish Labour leader, Wendy Alexander has lost two key advisers and the party's general secretary Lesley Quinn has quit.

Alexander was tasked with transforming Labour after it lost power in Scotland for the first time in 50 years.

But the party is in greater turmoil than ever.

We don't know if she is the architect of her own misfortune. Or if she has just had a run of bad luck.

But we DO know Labour cannot reverse their fortunes by splashing out on spin doctors and focus groups.

Alexander has to inspire not only MSPs but the unsung heroes of the party... the local councillors, the activists, the trade unionists.

They can help forge no-nonsense policies that appeal to ordinary Scots voters.

It's not magic.

But it might lift the curse plaguing Wendy.
