Refs Must Count The Cost

THE job a referee does is getting almost impossible and the recent high-profile mistakes combined with their shout for more cash has made the men in black public enemy No.1.

The fee of £800 plus expenses has only highlighted their remit within the game. Whistlers should face the axe if they make a balls-up, the same as players. And 800 smackers for an hour and a half's work? I would date Ann Widdecombe for that kind of cash.
