THREE years ago, I wrote that I wanted to like Andy Murray for more than the fact we both came from the same region of the same country.
It was hard. Too hard. Watching someone you're willing to do well throw his toys out of the pram at the end of every point he lost made it impossible.
But hats off to him. With help from people he trusts, such as his mum Judy, he has peeled away the layers of the ugly teenage cocoon he was wrapped in.
He's now showing us the quirkiness, the focus, the drive, the sheer talent and that's ALL we see.
