Argentina lesson is a Godsend

IF ever a picture summed up the circus in midweek, Diego Maradona's God-like status dominating the show, this is it.

But I'm sick of hearing whingers ask where the value in the game for Scotland was.

Why shouldn'twe want to play teams as good as the Argentinians?

Guys like Christophe Berra, Chris Iwelumo and Kris Commons don't get European football season in season out with their clubs. They have to know what they're up against if they suddenly need to be thrown into the mix in Amsterdam for our next World Cup qualifier.

And even guys like Gary Caldwell, who has played 18 Champions League games with Celtic, learned a lesson in that wonderful first 15 minutes of tempo and movement from Maradona's men.
