MARADONA or Pele? With the wee man bringing his Argentina team here in a fortnight the question was doing the rounds again this week.

And maybe unusually for a guy of my generation it has to be Pele. Playing 1363 games in his career is almost beyond comprehension but scoring 1280 goals?

That's not just gifted, it's God like. Not that Maradona was without gifts but his achievements are tainted by drug use.

Just look at the bulging eyes in the famous photo just before he was done, There's no doubt what he was taking was performance enhancing.

Mind you, with Pele advertising Viagra these days I suppose the same could be said for him.
