GOOD to see Walter Smith deliver a sensible and dignified response to the tales of UEFA Cup bribery and corruption swirling around Zenit St Petersburg.
The allegations centre around the Russians' 5-1 semi-final win over Bayern Munich, not the final itself, but Smith still wanted nothing to do with it.
The investigation will be interesting, especially as the gangsters' claims suggest Bayern could be bent.
Gers got to the final fair and square but didn't deserve to win. If Zenit did so fairly is anyone's guess.
