It wasn't a Kirk in teeth

KIRK BROADFOOT should take George Burley's comment about his 'limited ability' the way it was intended - as a compliment.

More lavishly gifted players than him have wee'd their talent up a wall and never even come close to earning a huge living with one of the Old Firm, far less had the honour of a Scotland shirt.

But precious few will have worked as hard to get where they are. Word is the big man employed a personal trainer over the summer to reach pre-season at Ibrox in full flight.

And the determination Kirk shows to make the most of what he can offer in every game, and overcome everyone's doubts, says it all about his mental strength.
