Straying By The Rules

THE SFA are on to plums in the latest shambolic round of refereeing debacles.

They cannot win despite their best Henry Kissinger efforts with Yogi Hughes.

If they do throw the book at him for speaking his mind following his side's defeat at Parkhead last weekend then watch out for the can of worms that opens given Ian Brines' bungling performance when he pulled the Bairns boss up for breaking a rule that didn't even exist.

And if they don't? They should brace themselves for an invoice from Craig Levein asking for his five grand back.

He'd be well within his rights if it's one rule for him and one for everyone else.

What they should be doing is hauling Brines in front of them instead.

Asking why he made them look so stupid, not with his horrific decisionmaking on the park - which was bad enough - but by his idiotic decision to haul Hughes (left) into his room at half time.

And when they're done asking him they should suspend him and then make their decision public.

Will they do ANY of these things?
