Japanese can cut in England

ALEX MILLER reckons Japan's top teams could easily survive and thrive in the Premiership.

The former Liverpool coach has made an unbeaten start to his time in charge of JEF United Chiba in the J-League, winning three and drawing one of his first four games to haul them off the bottom of the table.

And he admits he's impressed by the standard so far. Alex said: "The technical level is fantastic even if they do have a wee bit to go on the tactical side.

"If you compare it with England then the teams around us in the league are Championship material.

"The top boys though, the likes of Urawa and Osaka, would sit easily in the middle of the Premiership."
