Eur in for a big treat

WE'RE under way with the Euros at last. And anyone who says they're not interested because we're not there needs their head examined.

This is the most wide open football tournament in a generation. By my reckoning eight out of the 16 can legitimately claim to have a shout of winning it - from the big six to outsiders Croatia and Russia.

Trying to figure out who comes out of Group C is hard to call never mind picking a winner for the whole thing.

I've gone through the draw a few times - changing a team here and there - and keep arriving at Spain in the final, maybe against Portugal.

So on those grounds I can't see past the Germans.
