IT'S 35 years since he first stood in a dugout, 50 years since he first set foot in football.

Yet you know in the next 10 days no-one in the game will be hungrier than Sir Alex Ferguson.

He'll strain every brain cell to make the 0.1 per cent of a difference that it might take to win the biggest trophies in club football.

It would take a brave man to bet against Man United taking the Premiership and Champions League - and a braver one still to back Fergie to step down if he does the double. They will have to carry him out in a box.
