WARRING Manchester United stars fought with Chelsea ground staff - and Reds defender Rio Ferdinand kicked a female steward in shocking scenes at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
All hell broke loose after United blew a big chance to win the title in London.
Punches flew as staff tried to stopMan U players warming down on the pitch following Blues' 2-1 win.
Agroundsman aimed a right hook at Patrice Evra then Paul Scholes, Ji Sung Park, Gary Neville and John O'Shea waded in.
The FA will probe the bust-up which was caught on TV. A Chelsea spokesman said: "We will study footage to establish appropriate action."
Ferdinand also caused a storm when he booted the woman as he headed up the tunnel. He said: "I kicked the wall as I've done in the past. Unfortunately a woman was standing next to it. I accidentally brushed her with my foot.
"I went back to see if she was OK and apologised profusely.
"To be fair she laughed it off and was very understanding. She said she wasn't hurt and I've arranged for a bouquet of flowers to be sent to her."
United's stars lost the plot after seeing Michael Ballack score a late penalty to move Chelsea level on points with the champions with just two games remaining.
