Fired-Up Jeff Turns Back Crock

JEFFREY DE VISSCHER strained at the leash so hard to make an impact at Dons he crocked himself. Now he's finally fit enough to break loose from his chains and show the Abeerdeen fans he's the real deal.

The Dutchman, signed from De Graafschap in the summer, played just 17 minutes of the season opener with Dundee United as a sub. But the attacking midfielder is in line for a second showing at Ibrox today.

The 26-year-old (left) said: "It's been very frustrating. Everything was going well in pre-season but I got injured after just a few minutes of the first game and nothing has gone right since then.

"I was working too hard to get back in the team and ended up doing more damage by straining the thigh again just when I was about to make a comeback.

"But I am ready to return and I am still desperate to show the Aberdeen fans why the manager was so determined to sign me in the first place.

"It will be my first time at Ibrox and it's a big match against a side who just won in the Champions League. But if we show the same ability as against Dnipro we can take something from the game."
