JK Rowling beats the bad banks

THE news that JK Rowling earns three million quid a week is quite staggering - but good luck to her.

Her ideas, hard work and creativity makes us and our kids go out and buy her stories. Harry Potter is an honest way to make a buck and she gives millions to good and deserving causes.

I envy her that part of her life...to have so much money you can change people's lives for good.

I would rather she got her three million a week than some of these useless bankers who have plundered our accounts and played the markets - or handed out sub-prime mortgages that would never be paid back.

Abba DVD is my Waterloo

WELL Mamma Mia! has really done the business with sales at record levels for the DVD...and yes, I was one of those who bought it. But not for me, for my daughters who love it. I would rather watch paint dry than Meryl Streep and Co warble through Abba's back catalogue but who am I to go against the masses? All I get from the DVD is great songs - not sung all that well - with a pretty rubbish story but if you want a fun singalong escape, then I suppose it's ideal. Read
